what city in the US do you recommend for a single gay to live in?
I am Colombian but I live in Europe, however in a year or so I will be moving to the US and I would like to know which cities in the US are ok for me as a gay guy on his late 20’s……..
Have in mind that I am gay but not much into all that gay world stuff so I don’t really want to live on big expensive places like new york or san francisco….. and I cant stand southern california (dont ask me why)
I was thinking more about places like mid size cities that are not tiny redneck hellholes in the middle of nowhere but that are not huge super expensive metropolises infested with traffic smog and people everywhere…..
I am looking for like a nice, mid size city, not so expensive, and a relaxed atmosphere but with a relatively vibrant nightlife and interesting singles to meet.

That’s easy. San Francisco, California. Anywhere in the Bay Area, really.
i think san francisco has more gays than any other city in the u.s.
San Fransico, California or Key West, Florida
Key West! In Florida.
On their city homepage, they even have a link for “Gay Friendly Activities” or something to that extent… Gay Friendly something.
Its a very pretty town too, not as expensive as San Francisco.
Sacramento CA has a large gay community. Its still pretty cheap for living expences for CA standards. I lived in San Francisco and Sacramento and both are alot of fun and have a crazy nite life. Im not gay, but I do have alot of gay friends and they all love Sac!! Check it out!
Massachusetts is a very liberal and open minded state. There are many small towns that are in or around the south shore (south of Boston) that can offer a “community” setting while still offering immediate connections to all the benefits and attractions of the big city (Boston – Beantown). It is a wonderfully diverse state that is full of culture and also is for the most part gay-friendly. Where San Francisco is the gay mecca of the west coast, Provincetown (P-town) on Cape Cod is it rival in the northeast.
This will seem odd, as Texas is normally considered quite conservative, but either San Antonio, or Austin, though large cities, are both very open to people of all walks of life. In San Antonio, you would have a tendency to blend a little more as the city is 60% hispanic with several people from Columbia and also a lot of people from Central America. There are clubs where there is a gay prescence, but they also seem to be the better dance clubs so they are not exclusively gay, though nobody seems to care.
Austin, being the home of the state’s largest university, is also the most liberal city in the state. There are a lot of area activities, and there is an active music scene, as Austin calls itself the Live Music Capital of the World.
The cost of living in both is low to moderate. The climate is temperate, though the cities are both growing as San Antonio is now the 7th largest city in the US and Austin is around 15th but both metropolitan areas have about 2 million people. They are also about an hour apart so it is easy to enjoy the two at the same time.
Miami is a big city, but there’s probably a fairly big Colombian and gay community.
